FAQs

LeTendre Concrete & Design

  • How soon after my concrete is poured can I walk on it?

For optimal curing, we advise waiting a full 24-hour period following the concrete pour before walking on the surface.
  • How soon after my concrete is poured can I drive on it?

To ensure the concrete has sufficiently cured to support vehicle weight, we recommend waiting a minimum of 7 days after pouring before allowing any vehicular traffic.
  • Will my concrete rise in the cold weather months?

Concrete installations not placed on footings may experience slight elevation due to freezing groundwater. However, the surface typically returns to its original position as the frost thaws.
  • Will my concrete crack?

While we employ comprehensive preventative measures such as proper base compaction, rebar reinforcement, and strategic control joint placement, concrete remains susceptible to environmental factors. Despite our best efforts, some cracking may occur due to the natural properties of the material.
  • What can I do to protect my investment?

To preserve your concrete, we recommend promptly removing any fertilizers, snow, or ice accumulation. Avoid using de-icing chemicals and instead opt for sand. When clearing snow, utilize a snow blower or shovel rather than a plow. Additionally, ensure proper water drainage to designated areas to prevent potential damage.
