  • How soon after my concrete is poured can I walk on it?

You should allow 24 hours before you walk on your concrete driveways or walkways.

  • How soon after my concrete is poured can I drive on it?

You should allow seven days before driving on concrete driveways.

  • Will my concrete rise in the cold weather months?

If your concrete isn't placed on footings, it may rise when the water in the ground freezes. As the frost comes out of the ground, the concrete will settle back into place. For more concrete paving tips, reach out to the expert concrete contractors at LeTendre Concrete & Design!

  • Will my concrete crack?

It may. Although the concrete contractors at LeTendre Concrete & Design take extraordinary measures (a properly compacted base, rebar reinforcement, and control joints) to prevent the concrete from cracking, it's a natural material applied in an uncontrolled environment.

  • What can I do to protect my investment?

Well-maintained concrete driveways and paving can last for years. According to This Old House, a stamped concrete walkway can last around 25 years with minimal repairs. To achieve this kind of longevity, you should:

    • Promptly remove fertilizers, snow, and ice accumulation.
    • Avoid using ice removal chemicals. Instead, use sand.
    • Remove snow with a snow blower or shovel, not a plow.
    • Properly channel water to the designated drainage area.
